Yes. As such, you should not start planning travel or other arrangements to attend the Conference until your registration has been confirmed.

No. You should not start planning travel or other arrangements to attend the Conference until your registration has been confirmed.

There are no obligatory registration fees for the Conference. We are encouraging Conference participants to pay an inclusivity fee of 150 Euros that will be used to support the participation of under-represented groups at the Conference including participants from Least Developed Countries, Small Island Developing States and Early Career Ocean Professionals.

To ensure the success of the Conference, it is vital that it embodies the Ocean Decade principles related to diversity, equity and inclusivity including strong participation of typically under-represented groups including Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) and participants from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). To achieve this, the Conference organizers have established a pooled fund that will provide travel support for selected candidates from these groups.

Participants at the Conference are kindly requested to contribute to this pooled fund at the time of registration through the payment of an 'inclusivity fee' of 150 Euros per person. This fee will be used exclusively for travel support for ECOP, SIDS and LDC participants who will be selected through a transparent process.

Participants who are able to and who would like to provide additional support for travel of under-represented groups are very welcome to pay an amount that is higher than the inclusivity fee of 150 Euros!

Once your registration has been confirmed you will be sent a link to pay the inclusivity fee.

Yes, you can also pay by bank transfer.

You will be provided with a ‘donation certificate’ confirming that you have paid the inclusivity fee.

You can cancel your registration by logging into your account on the Conference website.

Unfortunately the inclusivity fee cannot be refunded as it will be put into a pooled fund to support travel of under-represented groups.

Individuals from, and currently working or studying in, a Least Developed Country or Small Island Developing State, and/or an Early Career Ocean Professional can apply for travel support.

Applications for travel support should be made via the request for registration form.

Requests for travel support will be made by the Conference organisers on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Current engagement in the Ocean Decade.
  • Confirmed role as a Conference speaker or in Conference Satellite Events, oral presentations or poster sessions.
  • Motivation to attend the Conference.
  • Potential for the Conference to contribute to the individual's work and/or future career development.
  • Availability of other complementary sources of support.

Applicants will know if they were successful or not by the end of January 2024.

Once you create an account on the Conference website you can access and modify your details.
